Things have been busy for us with Help Portrait this year, it went without a single hitch, so many families just got to walk away with a framed 8×10 print free of charge, these are families that normally would never be able to obtain such a thing as the simple things like food is much more important to them.

Help Portrait this year was a great event, and attached is a video for the day for your viewing pleasure.

We also have had some downtime in-between bridals, client meetings and getting all the gear ready for the next wedding season, plus planning things for the meetup group and many photographers that join us there.

Coffee and Cars is the next event and much more coming very soon plus classes start up in the New Year again.

In all this time we have even had time to take a break to visit for the weekend the wonderful majestic Biltmore house is Asheville NC, and the best way to see this place is by candlelight at night.  It was a blast for sure.

Being a Wedding Photographer in Charlotte NC is one of the
best things ever.

I get to go to the best party ever, I get to witness the love
of the couple I have gotten to know over the time we have met. I get to see the story unfold, and record
the memories for a lifetime of viewing. Then
I get to do little things that lift it above others and put a smile on my bride’s
faces when they see something they never expected.

Yes its hard work, not in taking the photographs as that’s what
I do, its all second nature, but yes my feet hurt after a long wedding, my back
can even hurt at times but I would not change a thing, its truly a pleasure to
be a part of such a wonderful thing.

I had the pleasure of photographing not only the engagement, bridal but also the Wedding of Bill and Tatum at the Peacock Inn in Newton.

A great couple with so much love for each other and I had so much fun at this event, here is a video of the wedding, enjoy, PS this is just the highlights of the day.

So much has been going on so time to update everyone.

First off we had to move to a new hosting site because of some issues and redo some website backend stuff, we have a team on board to look after our image online and I have been shooting weddings no stop.

The last Wedding was at some of the great places in charlotte, starting at a great hotel, then the United Methodist Church in Uptown charlotte, followed by the reception at the amazing place The Big Chill in uptown Charlotte.

Wedding photographers in Charlotte NC knows how good this venue is to work, a wonderful setup that just makes it a dream to shoot a wedding at.

It’s something any wedding photographer that is busy that could tell you, I honestly forget the weddings I did a few weeks ago, weekend blur after a while, you never forget the couples but you do the dates it seems.  Thank the lord for calendars and reminders

Day After sessions are one of the latest trends in wedding
photography. Gone are the days of ‘pre-bridal’ sessions and worrying about
getting your dress dirty. Brides and grooms can participate in a variety of
fun, romantic and even sexy sessions after their actual wedding day. Sessions
can be done one week, one month or even one year after the big day.

There are a variety of session types including the “trash
the dress” session that has been making national headlines. A typical
“trash the dress” session starts out with a bride in her wedding gown
and a unique location. Artfully posed in a beautiful environment with dramatic
lighting lends its style to a high-fashion type of photo. Most of the trash the
dress style sessions end with the bride in her gown laying in sand or dirt or
even in a pool of water.

The name “Trash the Dress” is sometimes
misleading. It is a catchy name for artistic photos taken in unusual places.
Whether or not you actually trash your dress is up to you. Most of the time a
little water doesn’t hurt the dress and a little dirt can be dry-cleaned making
the dress as good as new. If you are worried about ruining your dress you can
talk to your photographer about location options or even wear another gown.

The reasons some brides choose to do a day after session:

• Want to try a different hair or makeup technique than they had on their wedding day
• Wants to be more sexy with poses
• More time to get artistic wedding photos in another location
• Less stressful than wedding day photography
• Not worried about getting the dress dirty
• Feels so beautiful in gown and want to wear it again
• Gift for groom
• Fun!

Bridal session on location at the Peacock Inn in Newton NC

I am shooting a wedding in September at this location and the bride Tatum arranged for us to shoot her bridal at this place.  What an amazing location, just about one hour from charlotte is this wonderful Venue, a perfect place for a wedding, nice rooms, wonderful places outside to shoot, a barn, white fencing covering fields and horses on site.

The rooms are perfect, when shooting weddings, the changing room that the bride uses is one of the most important areas that almost always gets overlooked, the light, the décor, everything.
At the Peacock Inn in Newton, that’s not the case, it’s beautiful, the catch is there is no way I can show you any photographs of the bridal as the fiancé has not seen the dress and will not till after they marry in September.

So until then all you can see are some of the website shots of the wonderful location and its killing me not to post these images, but they will remain under seal for the groom to be and online till September.

Wedding and Bridal Photography at the Charlotte EpiCenter

What can I say, I love shooting weddings, bridals and all kinds of events too many to say here.

When I shoot a wedding, I don’t get much time to really get the great dreamy photographs if the place is not up to par and with so many brides making cut backs on the location, it gets harder, so every now and then, we go on a un-bridal shoot,

a bridal shoot with a bride that has already got married, those are the best sometimes as the bride cares less about any damage to the dress.  But I do take great care on a bridal, you would never see it in the photographs but normally I have a white cloth to put under them if they sit on grass or anything else.

A recent bride and groom in the uptown area, we shot at various locations, urban photography for weddings can be so much fun and the real fantastic shots can be found so easy.  Photographing a bridal or wedding at the EpiCenter in charlotte or on one of the uptown streets is just so dreamy and wonderful.

We got to Lake Shaw today right after some rain to shoot Kaitlyn and Clydes Engagement Session, the weather was warm and bright and what fun they had.

Just finished prepping for the engagment session for Kaitlyn and Clyde’s later today.

This is going to be an awesome shoot, they have a great story to tell on how they met, so watch for the photographs and video very soon.

The session is going to be in the Lake Shaw area close to the University Hilton Hotel.  Its a beautiful location with willow trees, water and just some great hidden locations.

Once I get that done its back to prep the photographs and get ready for the Bat Mitzvah tomorrow at Temple Beth El.

Tomorrow is going to be a great day and lots of fun for Megan’s Bat Mitzvah.

St Mary’s Chapel Charlotte, NC

I had the absolute pleasure of shooting the wedding of Jeff and Norma Cheatham at the St Mary’s Chapel in Charlotte, what a beautiful
chapel this is and wonderful to work in.  The flowers were wonderful, as was the Minister,

Minister Patrick was a  joy to work with, about the only one I have come across saying,  you can do anything, flash, come close do anything as it’s for the couples memories, just don’t hang
from the rafters.  I had to laugh when I heard this but it meant I could get the most amazing images for the bride and
groom.

We always get the best images at weddings  but when you get the all go then it’s just the best ever, Photographing weddings is just a real pleasure and I enjoy
getting to know the bride and groom as much as I do shooting their wedding day.
